Get to know me

Hi, I’m Caroline!

I’m a very fast-paced individual who loves to take on new challenges and make things happen. This sense of exploration inspired me to work as a freelancer and bring meaningful projects to life.

My experience in tourism

Throughout the years, I’ve seen the travel industry from many different perspectives. My journey so far included:

  • Master’s thesis on environmental education in tours in the Amazon
  • Content creation for sustainable travel brands
  • Implementation of sustainability measurement system for a tour operator
  • Operational experience in the hotel industry in Switzerland (events department and reception)
  • Official certification as a forest guide in Germany
  • Designing customized travel itineraries in Peru

Thanks to this experience in various fields, I got to know both the potential and the challenges of the industry. Now, I want to use this knowledge and inspire people to take new perspectives on traveling and reflect on the impact their choices have.

My thoughts about the industry

The more I learned about the tourism industry, the more I noticed that the way experiences are presented to travelers doesn’t always reflect the full picture. Destinations and tours are often showcased at their best, while challenges like overtourism or local constraints receive less attention. Hence, many travelers are often unaware of them.

I believe that, as a trusted point of contact for travelers, it’s our responsibility to include them in the conversation. We need to show destinations as they really are and educate travelers about challenges and irresponsible practices. Because only informed tourists can make informed decisions.

And despite that (or perhaps precisely because of it), they can enjoy unforgettable and meaningful travel experiences that last a lifetime.
